Xiaomi stated the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 Lite will launch first in Spain in late July. So, we'll get this post updated when Xiaomi posts an update regarding the same. The smartphones are expected to be priced between ₹14,000 to ₹18,000. The Mi A2 Lite, meanwhile, starts off at $210. To watch the event, just hit the play button in the video embedded below. As such, although the Mi A2 doesn't have a 3.5mm jack, the A2 Lite has the analog port. It is also possible that the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite may sport an even lower price tag.
The Mi A1's design was based on Xiaomi Mi 5X, which was exclusive to the Chinese market. For the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, you will need to pay €179 and the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant costs €229. There are two more variants of the device offering 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM+128GB internal storage, priced at Euro 279 (approximately Rs 22,500) and Euro 349 (approximately Rs 28,100) respectively. The performance is coupled with multiple RAM variants - 4GB and 6GB.
The Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen of full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels with 18:9 aspect ratio. As per a teaser posted on Twitter, Xiaomi showed two lenses magnifying an object that is far away, without losing any detail. For the front, there is HDR mode, AI portrait mode and AI beauty function. The teaser also hinted at a feature that will allow users to change focus between background and foreground, depending on your preference. Xiaomi Mi A2 will be available in three colour option - Blue, Black, and Gold. Henceforth, the devices will provide a solid Android 8.0 Oreo experience. The two new phones are the successor to the last year's popular Mi A1, the first Xiaomi phone to run stock Android instead of custom MIUI ROM, and part of Google's revamped Android One initiative. The 6-inch full-HD display packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB and 6GB RAM variants respectively. In the camera department, it is rumoured to have a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP selfie camera. It could also have 12MP + 5MP dual-rear cameras, alongside a 5MP selfie sensor. You can expect terrific battery life from this phone because it sports a massive 5500mAh unit with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging, which can supply up to 18 watts of power.
Xiaomi will launch the Mi A2 Android One phone in India on August 8. Besides, it could come with a 4000mAh battery and offer connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB.
