The Buffalo Fire broke out Tuesday on a mountain near Silverthorne in Summit County, forcing the evacuation of more than 1,300 homes.
At about noon, the fire was reported at 91 acres, as firefighters said there was rapid growth.
Smoke levels Tuesday were not a safety concern, Steve Prosise with the county's environmental health office said. No structures have been lost.
On Wednesday, Day 13 of the 416 Fire, the blaze had grown to 25,900 acres and remains at 15 percent contained.
The report said containment was not expected before the end of the month. MOre than 900 firefighters were trying to control the blaze, according the AP. Investigators have not said how many or what type of structures burned.
The photographer said the couple had to move the spot of the wedding because of the fire and chose to use the fire for a backdrop.
The closure order will prohibit entry into the San Juan National Forest, including entry by the general public, most administrative entry by Forest Service employees, and most uses authorized under Forest Service permits and contracts.
"We don't know the cause of the fire", said Julie Sutor, a Summit County spokeswoman.
Anyone caught violating the order could be found guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and face a fine of $5,000 for individuals or $10,000 for organizations, and/or imprisonment.
As the east side of U.S. Highway 550 becomes more secure, fire officials are pulling firefighters from the area to help on other parts of the fire.
"Our state agencies are here to support you".
"We don't anticipate there being a big push there in that northeastern corner", Knight said.

A destructive fire raged through Moab, Utah, destroying eight homes. Both state and local public health agencies have issued air quality advisories to stay inside until smoke clears, and have warned those who have health risks to be extra cautious.
The fire covers more than 23,000 acres, according to the latest updates on federal wildfire database Inciweb. This year, almost 24,000 wildfires have burned more than 1.7 million acres across the country.
Voos says 393 homes in the area have been evacuated since the fire in the Medicine Bow National Forest was first reported on Sunday.
There also is an exception in the Sandia district for Foothills Trail No. 365, the Sandia Peak Tram and the Sandia Ranger District Administrative site, which includes the Tijeras Pueblo, trail, programs and facilities, forest officials said in a news release.
