It should be noted that the number of players doesn't necessarily account for the number of sales.
Microsoft has now announced in an official blogpost that State of Decay 2 has surpassed 1 million users online within 2 days of its launch. There have been over six million gameplay hours and 3.5 million hours of streams across Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube over 41,000 unique broadcasts.
And while that's some impressive stats, it appears that Microsoft's gamble on the Xbox Game Pass has paid off. There have been over 675 million zombies killed, over 6 million fireworks and firecrackers lit, over 6 million bags of snacks eaten, and over 2 million textbooks read. The game is enjoyable, yet the amount of bugs in the game is disappointing. You can now purchase the game on Amazon or the Microsoft Store, starting at $29.99, or play it for free if you're a $9.99 monthly Xbox Game Pass subscriber.

Last but not least, the developers have noticed numerous bugs and issues after launch, for which are going to be addressed in the first place before anything more unsafe occurs.
Microsoft also stated that Undead Labs continues to work on updating the game to address the game's major issues - that have been already reported by its fanbase - as its number one priority. As an Xbox Play Anywhere game, one digital purchase gets you both the Xbox One and the Windows 10 version of the game.
