"And everybody was singing and enjoying each other and she said, 'The last thing I remember her saying was, singing 'Jesus Loves Me'".
The Waffle House's Walt Ehmer said he spoke to survivors of the shooting after arriving in Nashville and mentioned at the funeral how emotionally they spoke of Groves, The Tennessean reported. Henderson and Groves reportedly belonged to the same sorority, Delta Sigma Theta.
Ehmer's words were reportedly met with applause and hallelujahs. Waffle House employee Taurean C. Sanderlin and customer Joe R. Perez were shot and killed outside the restaurant.
Reiking is being held on suicide watch at a Nashville maximum security jail on four counts of criminal homicide, four counts of attempted homicide and one count of having a firearm while committing a felony.
Previously, Waffle House offered to pay for the funerals of all four of the victims killed.
The Predators recognized several of the first responders from that deadly shooting a week ago in Nashville.
He started a Go Fund Me campaign for the victims' families last week. Taking to Facebook, Shaw said these shooting will not stop and will use his new found stardom to be an advocate for common sense gun laws. Shaw has also been offered assistance in the aftermath of the shooting.
There is now more than $200,000 donated to the GoFundMe page. More than $200,000 has been raised in less than a week.
"I figured if I was going to die, he was going to have to work for it", Shaw told reporters shortly after the incident. "I saw the opportunity and pretty much took it".
