Though the news section doesn't detail it fully, we do get to know a little something about the weapon.
According to an interview with Epic design lead Eric Williamson in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, the player cap could soon be raised to a player count of over 100 players, which would actually be pretty insane if you think about it. I mean, personally, I would love to try it. I don't see it in our near future but, hey, why not?' According to GameReactor, developers are figuring out how to better combine PvP and PvE modes together and classes can make a huge difference.
We've talked about how things could more closely integrate. Although the light machine gun has already made its debut in the Save the World mode, it is now officially on its way to Fortnite Battle Royale! It's not something that is easy to map from one to the other. We'll certainly keep you informed as to when you can get your hands on it and spray down some gunfire on the competition. Of course, this direction of integrating game modes comes with plenty of things to consider since each class is different from one another and certain classes can either have a huge advantage or a huge disadvantage over another class. If we were to put those classes into Battle Royale everyone would gravitate towards the one that has the smallest "hitbox". Everyone is used to the vast majority of players in a game, which is why the battle royale genre is so fun and exciting.
Perhaps this higher-than-100 player mode could be tested as a Limited Time diversion to gauge reception among players. Turn things around and try different stuff.
