Smith hasn't played a snap in the NFL since 2015 when he was suspended indefinitely for violating the league's substance-abuse and personal conduct policies.
While police continued to search for Smith, he reportedly checked himself into a rehab facility, according to his fiance. In his first two seasons, Smith racked up a combined 33.5 sacks and was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2012, notching 19.5 sacks. A year ago, he was investigated for a domestic-violence incident.
Smith took to Instagram to respond to the domestic violence allegations, saying "you all are wrong".

That came while police said they were searching for him after the incident.
