"The SV Coupe is a celebration of the Range Rover bloodline, with a dramatic two- door silhouette which alludes to its unique heritage - the Range Rover launched as a two-door in 1970 - while being thoroughly modern and contemporary", the automaker said today of the exterior styling. Land Rover hasn't released any images of the SV Coupe's exterior yet.
As you can see from this image, however, the Range Rover SV Coupe features an opulent interior with four plush individual seats - trimmed with white leather up front and black leather at the rear - accessed via a pair of extended front doors.
The spy shots of the auto reportedly showed that the exterior design will stick closely to the four-door with an extended pair of front doors, and a familiar boxy profile.
Ranger Rover SV Coupe teaser previews super-luxe SUV
More details are expected at the Geneva show, which runs from 8 to 18 March.
John Edwards, Managing Director for Special Vehicle Operations added, "Land Rover created the luxury SUV sector with Range Rover nearly 50 years ago".
The coolest examples of the Range Rover Classic will always be those with two doors. "This is a vehicle that will resonate on an emotional level". With a full-length center console, the SV Coupe is a strict four-seater, and many of its finishes and upholstery seem bespoke to the vehicle.
Only 999 of them will be made, with each unit being hand-built by the SVO technicians at the factory in Warwickshire. The front seats will also get heating and massage functions; however, owing to the fact that the SV Coupe only has two doors, passengers will have to unceremoniously climb over the large, armchair-like front seats to get in and out. Plus, 2018 marks Land Rover's 70th anniversary year.
