Just days after LaVar Ball pulled his 19-year old son LiAngelo out of UCLA, he announced that both LiAngelo and 16-year old LaMelo, have signed on with Lonzo's agent, Harrison Gaines. The Ball family's decision effectively strips LiAngelo and LaMelo of their amateur status and prevents them from playing at the college level.
"I don't care about the money", LaVar told ESPN earlier today.
LiAngelo Ball's outspoken father, Lavar Ball, told ESPN he chose to pull his son out of UCLA.
The outspoken father removed LiAngelo from UCLA while he served a suspension in his freshman season for shoplifting in China.
The two clashed following the detainment - and later release - of UCLA basketball players who were arrested last month on suspicion of stealing sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store while the team was in China.
LaMelo Ball was supposed to be playing basketball for Chino Hills this season in his junior year. Sources told ESPN that several teams in Europe and Asia have expressed interest.
Signing with an agent makes a high school player ineligible to play college basketball with only rare exceptions. "If they are over there, I wish them the best", Ball said. The biggest baller in America has chose to tweet out an animation involving himself and the President of the United States, and it appears that Ball wants to keep this beef going for a while.
Meanwhile, Bruins Coach Steve Alford said he has yet to speak with the Balls since LiAngelo left the program earlier this week. "I'll go back and forth and probably stay out there a while at first".
