What will possibly excite Mega Man fans even more, however, is that Mega Man 11 has also been announced. Today, during the Mega Man Anniversary event, Capcom announced that Mega Man 11 will be coming to Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 in late 2018.
Capcom had a surprise for fans of the Mega Man series today during its Mega Man 30th Anniversary Livestream event.
Various normal Mega Man games have found their way back to consoles and other gaming platforms in various ways, such as how Mega Man 9 and 10 were added to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility list.
This is the third legacy collection for Mega Man games, following compilations of the NES games in 2015 and then earlier this year.
What is Mega Man 11?
Looking at the trailer, it's clear that Mega Man 11 features gorgeous visuals and tight platforming. It's a great opportunity to play all the classic titles from Mega Man 1-10 in preparation for Mega Man 11. The final installment, Mega Man X8, arrived for the PS2 in 2004.
A new weapon shown in the trailer drops four bricks right in front of Mega Man. In turn, Capcom has tried to honor Mega Man in many different ways.
What do you think of the Mega Max X Series? Capcom will also introduce a Rewind feature to the games, letting players undo short-term mistakes. That function will be included on Legacy Collections owned on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Capcom will probably apportion out more information about all three projects as the release dates draw closer, so stay tuned to the company's Twitter feed (and Tom's Guide!) for further updates.
