Collins later quipped that the embarrassing fall made her feel a little like accident-prone Bridget Jones, the heroine of author Helen Fielding's books.
The Only Way Is Essex and Celebrity Big Brother star, 36, announced the victor of Best TV Show at the Radio 1 Teen Awards - then disappeared through a hole in the stage.
The Only Way Is Essex star had just announced that Love Island had taken home the Best TV show gong when she took a tumble down the stage hole just as Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay were climbing up.
The Love Island stars helped her up and she quickly assured the crowd at Wembley that she was fine.
Collins did not appear to notice and slipped, taking a nasty tumble into the hole.
She added, "Yes I'm in a bit of pain, but it was the best moment of my life. I've got a bit of a booty and thank God for that because it has protected me". Sharing a picture with her followers, she wrote: "Guys it was all worth it cause I got a selfie with RITA ORA #lifegoals off to bed now I'm in agony and need to rest".
Fortunately Gemma, 36, seemed okay and was able to get back up on stage with the reality stars. "Madonna stacks it I stack it guys I am ok and the show must go on it's gone VIRAL #teenawards".
"That poor girl [Amber Davies] almost got totally crushed, there's nothing of her".
"I'm in a bit of shock still", she said. It was one of those moments I don't think I am every going to live down'.
Ben Shephard tentatively asked: "In all seriousness, there is quite a big hole there you've fallen down, maybe the Love Island guests saved you as you squashed them on the way in?"
