World number one Rafa Nadal battled past Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 7-6 (4) 6-3 and into the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters on Friday.

Briton Jamie Murray and Brazil's Bruno Soares reached the doubles semi-finals with a 6-1 7-6 (8-6) victory over Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram.
Nadal's victory took just 63 minutes and extended his winning streak to 14 consecutive matches.
The 16-times grand slam victor, who beat Dimitrov in three sets in the China Open semi-finals last week, fired 32 winners and won two crucial breaks to prevail in two and a half hours at the Qi Zhong Centre.
Meanwhile, Cilic's quarter-final win over Albert Ramos-Vinolas puts him ahead of Dimitrov at No 5 in the race to the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
Nadal, who has never won the Shanghai showpiece, is chasing a seventh title in a brilliant season and a hat trick of triumphs on the trot, having been crowned US Open and China Open champion in recent weeks. The top seed consolidated to make it 5-2 before serving out the match.

The second set was a close one as both players held all of their six serves and had to fight in the tie-break.
A relieved Nadal looked up to the heavens and raised his arms at the end.
Del Potro, who lost his serve for the only time in the match in the second game, won nine of his 15 service games at love.
Federer broke Gasquet at 5-5 to gain the advantage and went on to take the first set.
His foot appeared to get stuck on the floor and he crumpled down, landing with his weight on his outstretched left hand - his predominantly non-playing hand - and bending it painfully backward.
