The game was to begin at 7 p.m. ET. Tonight Cousins and the Kings visit Philadelphia in a matchup of teams expected by many to land in the NBA Draft lottery at season's end.
Condensation that left slippery wet spots on the floor of the Philadelphia 76ers arena forced officials to postpone their National Basketball Association game against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, November 30 (Thursday morning, Manila time).
The floor at the Wells Fargo Center was so wet it was unplayable, and nobody could figure out how to fix it, with outside temperatures and the hockey ice beneath the court all coming into play and leaving water on the hardwood.
Unfortunately, it was determined the best decision would be to postpone the game, which prompted the Kings to jokingly take a shot at the Sixers. "They're world class operators, so I don't anticipate a problem or an issue, but we certainly want to get this fixed and straight and set".
During the delay, Kings All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins grabbed a pair of mops to help the workers dry off the court.
"I was trying to play", Cousins told the 76ers beat reporter Keith Pompey of his janitorial efforts.
76ers: Host Orlando on Friday night. The 76ers have lost four straight, but they come in with a well rested Joel Embiid who sat out Monday as a healthy scratch. His previous high was 24 minutes, where he's been at for the past few weeks. Wednesday's game was supposed to mark the first in which the Sixers increased Embiid's minutes restriction to 28.
